Nick Cicero

Who am I?

Currently I am a Dig Downtown Jax blogger and work full-time as Leader and Strategist for the Social Media team at On Ideas, a full-service, 4A’s affiliated Advertising Agency located in Jacksonville, FL. Additionally I’m a contributing writer for Mashable and Social Fresh.

A creative advertiser, music producer, and social media specialist all rolled into one unique package, I’ve had the chance to shape and guide Social Media Campaigns and Communities for a number of local, national, and international brands.

I’ve had the chance to build and execute social strategies for brands like Dirty Potato Chips, Zapp’s Chips, SUBWAY, The Y, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Dr. Guy Harvey, and Chevrolet just to name a few.

As a writer and blogger I have written for or been featured in Mashable, Orlando Sentinel, Daytona Beach News-Journal, Florida Times-Union, Jacksonvile Business Journal, Daytona Beach Business Journal, Syracuse Post-Standard (Syracuse.com), SocialFresh.com, oneforty (acquired by Hubspot), 904 Magazine, and made TV and Radio appearances on Sportstalk 1010XL WOKV, CBS Action News Jax, and more.

You may know me as the creator of the Khan You Dig It! Movement in Jacksonville around the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars new owner Shahid Khan, where we rallied the city, got mustache fever and had a lot of fun the last few weeks of 2011.

I also freelance music production, radio promotion and social media consulting for various brands like A&E Television, Ford Motor Company, and Howcast.com; and recording artists signed to Universal Music, Kanye West’s GOOD Music, Def Jam, Atlantic, Shady and more. Some of my more successful work has come from working with Akon and Kanye West’s Artist’s Cyhi the Prynce (signed to Def Jam Records,) and NFL RB Thomas Jones’ new artist Myko. In a select few public appearances I have also opened as a DJ for acts like Ghostface Killah, Wiz Khalifa, Skyzoo, Yelawolf, XV and RJD2 – and of course you’ll always catch me jamming out on some jazz trumpet and generally promoting the good of music whenever I can.

College, what can I say. I love it. Thanks to Nazareth College of Rochester where I received a Bachelor’s in Music Ed, and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where I received a Master’s in Advertising.

I love Old Time Radio Shows and vinyl records, (anything jazz I’ll buy). I also love networking and working with other people to create amazing experiences, which is why I am so involved in the social media community. It’s amazing to see how large of network we can grow while still staying personally connected we can be in this new “digital meets physical” landscape of society.
